ASDESI World Autism Awareness Day Event
Current ASDESI clients (Autism Spectrum Disorder Education, Support & Information), their families and anyone interested in learning more about the ASDESI program are invited to attend a fun-filled afternoon at PLAY Party Zone with free entry, unlimited game access and afternoon tea. Attendees will be able to speak to ASDESI representatives to learn more about the program and the great contribution the Kollege of Knowledge Kommittee for Kids (KKKK) make to the local community.
Since the inception of ASDESI, the program has provided assistance to over 30 families per year with a child with ASD. ASDESI is unique as it provides a holistic approach assisting not only the child but also providing support to family members to enable them to better manage the complexities that come with ASD.
Without the assistance of the KKKK, ASDESI would never have seen the light of day. The KKKK have identified an unmet need in the community and they have done something about it. These types of initiatives undertaken by organisations such as the KKKK saves the government billions of dollars through informal or family based carer networks, assisting carers to maintain their caring role in the community.
The collaboration between the KKKK and Interchange Australia in creating ASDESI has made a tremendous impact on how the families with a child with autism can better cope in daily living. With the success of ASDESI, we would very much like to make families with a child with autism aware that there are services available to help them.
