Interchange Australia has had fantastic success with the running of both its music “The Hidden Wonders” and drama “Stage Fright Players” programs for well over 10 years now, with rehearsal groups held every Monday and Wednesday evening.
Both groups are led by highly qualified support workers each with more than 20 years of music, drama, performing and directing experience.
Over the past few years there have been some wonderful developments in both programs which has seen some spectacular performances take place at various community events, all thanks to the continued dedication of our wonderful support staff and participants of these groups.
The Stage Fright Players hold their very own original theatre productions twice each year with their next big production set for September 2nd and 4th 2020 – watch this space for the exciting announcement! As well as a smaller Christmas-themed performance that is always guaranteed to spread the Interchange Australia Christmas Cheer.
The past twelve months have seen The Hidden Wonders experience several developments with new more specialised groups emerging from the main band. Interchange Australia now has “Strawberry Jam” consisting of Heidi and Donna (with Support Worker Tracy-Lee), as well as Heidi doing a number of solo performances and “Thomas & The Terminators” consisting of long-time Hidden Wonders members Thomas, Paul and Liam (with Support Worker Tim).
Coming up in 2020 our bands already have a number of gigs booked in and are continuously growing in demand for performances at a variety of local community events.
On April 17th be sure to save the date of our Open Mic night being hosted by Interchange Australia’s The Hidden Wonders at “The Venue” in Bowral.
In 2019 Interchange Australia also seen the development of an entirely new group out of the Narellan Campus “Under The Radar” and they sure flew in under the radar, making an impact on the battle of the Interchange Australia bands! Nothing like some friendly competition amongst peers…
In addition to all the wonderful things occurring, we have another exciting announcement, and a very special thank you must go out to Steve Cheers from Powerpoint Music for allowing both our Drama and Music groups to move to your great new facility “The Venue” for rehearsals each week commencing in 2020.
The Venue is a fantastic new fully equipped entertainment spot which sets the scene for our groups to take their rehearsals and performances to the next level. To say we are all excited would be an understatement!
