Respite with Interchange Australia

The Interchange Australia Short-Term Accommodation service offers opportunities for children, young people and adults to have fun with peers and to learn new skills, whilst giving carers a much needed break, knowing the person they care for is safe and happy. People receive support in small groups with their peers, with individual support being provided in specific circumstances. Short-term Accommodation provides the opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, enjoy different experiences, learn new skills of independent living and adjust to various environments. Interchange Australia’s Short-term Accommodation service is planned and pre-booked. In consultation with the family, the consultant will arrange the booking. When in Short-term Accommodation, people have the opportunity to:

  • Learn social skills
  • Take part in activities
  • Learn new skills for independent living
