It is important to demonstrate the abilities of each individual, goals achieved – big or small, and help to reduce the barriers faced by people with disability
By Interchange Australia Marketing Coordinator Kelly Taylor
In Australia we have been supporting International Day of People with Disability since 1996, held on December 3rd each year. The day is aimed to promote and raise awareness, understanding and acceptance by recognising the achievements of people with disability around the world.
At Interchange Australia we take this opportunity to showcase the achievements of our participants throughout the year. It is important to demonstrate the abilities of each individual, goals achieved (big or small) and help to reduce the barriers faced by people with disability and work to a more inclusive community.
This year we will be demonstrating the abilities of our participants in and out of the pool at our annual “Interchange Olympics by the Pool” where all of our Interchange Australia houses will be meeting at Picton Pools this year and competing in a range of challenges.
In addition to our swimming competition and poolside activities special awards will also be presented for individual achievements throughout this past year.
Why not join us for celebrations, a sausage sizzle and a great day by the pool!
