6 weeks and counting and I am still loving the job as much as I always have. Thank you so much for the amazing services, opportunities, and people within Interchange Australia.

Meet Amanda, Interchange Australia’s new rostering Coordinator.
I am a Bowral resident through and through, I was born and bred here in the Southern Highlands and I have lived here my whole life. I love the atmosphere of the Bowral, country living but just busy enough to be lively, all my family is around me which makes it feel even more like home. I love how the Highlands is close to the city and close to the coast, the perfect in-between location for all kinds of adventures, living and relaxation.
Before I started at Interchange, I previously worked doing rostering in the aged care industry for 7 years which I got into through family. I really enjoyed rostering for aged care as I found the position so rewarding, solving problems and ensuring the day to day jobs run as smoothly as possible, getting everyone their services and getting them done properly. I really loved being able to meet and work with both residents and all the staff members – it was a really great role to be connected to everyone in the business.
Rostering is such a large and important role for any company with services like what we offer through Interchange, the way the days run out in the community and with our clients is always be the number 1 priority – as that is our sole purpose, the happiness, comfortability and satisfaction of all the people we support. Managing the day to day task of over 200+ staff and all the different clients really is a massive job. I find the best way to manage the job is to have a great work home life balance. I switch off by doing things I enjoy like scrapbooking and catching up with my friends. It’s really important to manage each aspect of life equally and make time to sit down and switch off.
I have now been with Interchange Australia for 6 weeks, a very rewarding and busy 6 weeks full of meeting new people, learning new procedures and managing the work days of so many new people. After leaving my rostering role in aged care I was doing odd jobs here and there but as soon as I saw the rostering role being advertised for Interchange, I just knew I had to apply. The job is so rewarding and I loved it too much to give up what I knew and the years and years of experience I accrued in aged care.
6 weeks and counting and I am still loving the job as much as I always have. Thank you so much for the amazing services, opportunities, and people within Interchange Australia.
