In celebration of International Day of People with Disability this year we would like to recognise Interchange Australia participant Lexi Wear whose drive to achieve and excel at everything she desires in life is simply outstanding.
Lexi dedicates her a large portion of her time organising the wonderful Camden Agricultural show each year, there is a lot of planning and administrative work that goes into this annual event and Lexi is always there at the forefront of ensuring this show is a huge success!
There are many things that make Lexi tick and her passion to succeed at life shows in the results of her hard work.
Lexi is a keen photographer whose wonderful nature photography work has won many awards at various shows and competitions for many years and has plans to continue with her passion for many years to come. If you get a chance, be sure to check out her photography, arts and crafts display at Camden show in 2024!
Lexi is without doubt a huge animal lover evident in her photography, she grew up around horses, so it comes as no surprise that she also has her own miniature pony that she competes at shows with. When asked what she loves most about horses, her response was the sense of calm that they bring into your life.
Another passion of Lexi’s is the performing arts as well as creative arts, in particular music. Lexi has been having private Guitar lessons with Interchange Music Coordinator Tim Dickson for a little over a year now and recently performed at RockCan 2023 summer music festival both on acoustic guitar and vocals and is part of the Narellan band Infinite Potential who are also booked in to perform at Camden Show in 2024. Also heavily involved in the Interchange Creative Arts program with Art Coordinator Brad Dengate, Lexi has also been recently working on murals at the Interchange houses in Narellan.
Such an incredibly talented and capable young woman whose passion and desire to achieve is proving that boundaries are only a perception, there is always a way to succeed at life in any capacity the right supports make all the difference.
One of Lexi’s biggest strengths is her ability to support and inspire others to also be the best version of themselves. She’s a great role model and encourages others to aim high and certainly leads by example.
Interchange Australia would like to wish Lexi all the very best in everything she sets her mind to in the future.
