Transport for NSW: Trackwork
Monday 7 September to Sunday 13 September
Scheduled trackwork across the rail network helps us to provide a safe, reliable and more efficient service. Trackwork is usually carried out on weekends, weeknights, school holidays and during weekday diversions to minimise disruption.
Travel tips:
Train replacement buses for trackwork may change due to bus driver shortages. Try catching local bus services where possible or make alternate arrangements. We continue to work on minimising the impact on your journey.
Consider other travel options if you can, as spaces are limited on replacement buses. Travelling off peak, walking or cycling where possible are all great alternatives.
Plan your new trip and check timetables, service disruptions and accessibility alerts. You can also download a real-time transport app and follow us on social media.
For future trackwork on your line check the future trackwork calendar.
Find the latest trackwork below. This trackwork advice is subject to change.

Use Trip Planner, download the free Opal Travel app, or subscribe to X alerts. It will give you train and bus timetable information for the day you are travelling.
Remember you must carry a valid ticket when you travel on all trains and replacement bus services. Please have your Opal card or buy an Opal single trip ticket at most train stations before boarding. Fines apply to customers who do not have a valid ticket.
Space is sometimes limited aboard replacement bus services. Be aware that luggage trolleys and other bulky items are carried at the driver’s discretion. You may have to wait for a bus with space available.
Bikes are not permitted on train replacement buses, including Southwest Link buses (SW1, SW2 & SW3) that operate between Sydenham and Bankstown as they are difficult to stow without inconveniencing or potentially endangering other passengers.
If you need wheelchair-accessible transport through areas affected by trackwork, contact your local station beforehand to arrange a low-floor bus or other suitable vehicle. Please allow extra travel time.
