There is a proven reduction in stress, depression and anxiety when using creativity to express yourself, what you are thinking and feeling through art without judgement.
By Interchange Australia Marketing Coordinator Kelly Taylor.
The Arts (whether it be performing arts or creative arts) play an integral role as part of our Day Options program at Interchange Australia, the skills learned by our participants who take part in these programs coupled with the therapeutic benefits are instrumental in everyday life.
At Creative Creations we work with all forms of media throughout each year and encourage participants to experiment with using different techniques.
With every technique and media used participants are presented with a new process which requires thinking and problem solving, helping them focus their mind on the task at hand which is an invaluable life skill for anyone to have.
By engaging in a variety of artistic activities through risk-free exploration, participants develop confidence in their abilities to approach goals and obstacles innovatively.
There is a proven reduction in stress, depression and anxiety when using creativity to express yourself, what you are thinking and feeling through art without judgement. At Interchange Australia we encourage our participants to express themselves freely through the artworks they create and provide the freedom to make their own choices creatively.
In November we held a small in house art challenge where participants could choose the media they wanted to create the art work they wanted, and it was wonderful to see so many entries in this challenge from participants of all levels of skill and abilities.
We hope you enjoy browsing through this wonderful artwork just as much as we did!
The overall winner was Courtney from our Goulburn campus “Lagoon House”.
Congratulations Courtney we hope you enjoy your new art pack!
Creativity helps to inspire and inform others, in aesthetical pleasing ways – why not join our Creative Creations class and inspire someone today.
If you would like to see more of the wonderful artworks created by Interchange Australia’s Day Options participants, stay tuned for further details on our one day only exhibition “Through the Looking Glass” being held on April 12th 2022.
