Interchange Australia is my two loves together – Aged Care and Disability support | Meet Nectaria

My name is Nectaria and I am an Aged Care Consultant here at Interchange Australia. My role here at Interchange is coordinating services for our Aged Care Services – Commonwealth Home Support Programme and Home Care Packages. Home Care Packages involve Case Management. I bring care and supports to people to remain independent and live at home for as long as possible. This includes personal care, social support, domestic assistance, allied health, nursing and continence aid purchases, just to name a few examples.

The Arts (whether it be performing arts or creative arts) play an integral role as part of our Day Options program at Interchange Australia, the skills learned by our participants who take part in these programs coupled with the therapeutic benefits are instrumental in everyday life.

At Creative Creations we work with all forms of media throughout each year and encourage participants to experiment with using different techniques.

I Feel Very Fortunate to be Working at Interchange – Dianna’s Story

My name is Dianna and I work at the reception desk here at Interchange Australia. My role in reception is such a broad role it’s quite difficult to sum it up quickly. Kim and I work together in reception and I couldn’t imagine anyone better to share the role with. Our job is to be the physical face and voice at the Interchange Head office. We handle general enquiries, office needs, face-to-face reception enquiries, over the phone enquiries, general office support for other staff members, office event organisation, helping with any Support Worker enquiries and lots of other bits and pieces.

International Day of People with Disability – Join us poolside as we host our annual Interchange Olympics

In Australia we have been supporting International Day of People with Disability since 1996, held on December 3rd each year. This day is aimed to promote and raise awareness, understanding and acceptance by recognising the achievements of people with disability around the world.

At Interchange Australia we take this opportunity to showcase the achievements of our participants throughout the year. It is important to demonstrate the abilities of each individual, goals achieved (big or small) and help to reduce the barriers faced by people with disability and work towards a more inclusive community.
